Gening Jiang is Professor of Surgery and Doctoral Supervisor at Tongji University. He has served as the Chief of the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital since 2004. Prof. Jiang is a recognized expert in diagnosis and surgical treatments for pulmonary, esophageal and mediastinal tumors. He is also specialized in Thoracoscopic Surgeries, Tracheal or Bronchial Stent Placement, Lung Volume Reduction etc.
Dr. Mathisen recently stepped down after 25 years as the Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery and Visiting Surgeon at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. He is the Distinguished Hermes C. Grillo Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Current Challenges in Thoracic Surgery is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal focused on current challenges, controversial issues and unresolved situations related to surgery for pulmonary, tracheal, mediastinal, esophageal, and chest-wall diseases. It aims to expand the boundaries and improve the quality and safety of surgery, and encourage innovations also from related specialties such as pulmonary medicine, transplantation, anesthesiology, pathology, imaging, biology, critical care medicine, and nursing.
