Aims and Scope

Current Challenges in Thoracic Surgery (ISSN: 2664-3278; Curr Chall Thorac Surg; CCTS; https://ccts.amegroups.com) is an international peer-reviewed journal providing high-quality researches and information related to challenging issues on thoracic surgeries with an aim to improve current diagnosis and treatment of thoracic diseases. The journal focuses on current challenges, controversial issues and intractable situation of thoracic surgeries for pulmonary, tracheal, mediastinal, esophageal, and chest-wall diseases. It also dabbles in related specialties such as pulmonary medicine, transplantation, anesthesiology, pathology, imaging, biology, critical care medicine and nursing. Besides, it encompasses extensive contents of technical development, multidisciplinary approach, precision treatment, perioperative medicine, basic and translational science, and education and training. CCTS will serve as a professional platform for healthcare professionals including surgeons, physicians and scientists to share their research, knowledge and experience.

CCTS is indexed and covered by the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).

Information for Authors

CCTS is a member of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and it follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)'s guidelines and the ICMJE recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journal.

Manuscripts submitted must be the original work of the author(s) and must not be published previously or under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Submission Turnaround Time

  • In-house review: 1-3 weeks
  • External peer review: 1-3 months
  • Publication Ahead of Print: within 1 month after being accepted
  • Formal publication: within 1-3 months after being accepted. Original Articles are listed as priority.

Publication Schedule

CCTS strives to keep a continuous publication schedule so that articles are published online as soon as they are ready and as quickly as possible. To better meet the publication needs, CCTS was published quarterly between January 2020 and December 2022, and is published bimonthly (February, April, June, August, October, December), staring from January 2023.
