This focused issue on "Highlights of the First International Symposium on Lung transplantation, Wuxi, China, 2019" is edited by Dr. Jingyu Chen, from Wuxi Lung Transplant Center, Wuxi People's Hospital, Wuxi, Jiangsu, China; and Dr. Michael Hsin, from Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong, China.
Dr. Jingyu Chen is the Vice-president of Wuxi People's Hospital and Director of Thoracic Department. He is also the Director of Lung Transplant Center of Jiangsu Province and Director of Lung Transplantation Department of China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing.
Dr Michael Hsin is a graduate from Cambridge University UK (Selwyn College). After completing the St Mary’s Hospital Basic Surgical Rotation, he spent two years as a research fellow at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/ Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. He underwent specialist cardiothoracic training in London, UK, at the Royal Brompton, London Chest and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals. He is currently working as Associate Consultant in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. Dr Hsin is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Surgery). He is a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery.
