Haifeng Wang is Associate Professor of Surgery and Master’s Supervisor at Tongji University. He is now the Vice Chief of the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital. Dr. Wang received his Doctor’s Degree of Thoracic Surgery from Second Military Medical University (Shanghai) in 2010. In 2006, he had the opportunity to be trained in Austin Hospital in Melbourne, Australia on a WHO Fellowship for six months. In 2013, he was honored the AATS Graham Fellowship, and visited Massachusetts General Hospital, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from 2013 to 2014.
Dr. Wang is interested in minimally invasive surgery for lung cancers, chest wall reconstruction and airway surgery, which were also objects of his study or research during his Graham Fellowship year in the US. He has invented a novel sternal reconstruction system, which, unlike the conventional prostheses, can be conveniently used for reconstruction of large areas of sternal defects.
He has been active in academic organizations, and is member of international associations such as the STS. He has published academic articles in journals both in China and abroad, five of which were indexed by SCI.
