Aaron Cheng, M.D., is a board-certified thoracic surgeon and Associate Professor of Surgery at UW Medicine. He serves as the surgical co-director of Cardiothoracic Intensive Care at the University of Washington Medical Center and also as the Administrative Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Harborview Medical Center
Dr. Cheng cares for patients who are often acutely critically ill and face challenging medical decisions. He finds satisfaction in working alongside them and their families to understand their choices and improve their well-being and health in a manner that is respectful and meaningful to them as individuals.
Dr. Cheng earned his M.D. from Harvard Medical School. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is additionally board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. He is actively involved with the Society of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Cheng's clinical interests include general thoracic surgery, thoracic surgical infections, and cardiothoracic surgical critical care.
