Dr. Ernest G. Chan is an integrated cardiothoracic resident at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He received his MD degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine and his MPH at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Chan has interests in Thoracic Surgery, Esophageal Surgery, and Lung Transplantation. In addition to this clinical work, Dr. Chan has focused much of his research efforts on clinical outcomes following Thoracic Surgery and Lung Transplantation. He also developed an interest in public health and is pursuing a better understanding in healthcare disparities in Lung Transplantation in the US. He is a candidate member of multiple cardiothoracic surgical societies and is a Reviewer for the Annals of Thoracic Surgery.
