Jason M. Long, MD, MPH

Dr. Long is an assistant professor of surgery in the division of cardiothoracic surgery and co-director of the lung cancer screening program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Michigan after completing his residency in general surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals.

Dr. Long’s clinical interests include minimally invasive techniques (robotic-assisted surgery) for benign and malignant conditions of the lung, esophagus, and mediastinum as well as lung transplantation and chest trauma. Dr. Long has a Masters of Public Health degree from Harvard University School of Public Health and his clinical research activities focus on quality improvement as well as short-term and long-term outcomes of patients with thoracic surgical conditions.
