Dr. Marco Chiappetta received his medical degree from Catholic University of Sacred Heart of Rome in 2009 with a first-class honor’s degree (110/110 cum Laude). He was a thoracic surgery resident at “Catholic University of Sacred Heart – Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS of Rome from 2010 to 2015.

From January 2016 to November 2016 he was senior researcher at the Thoracic Surgery Unit, Regina Elena National Cancer Institute in Rome.

He actually is consultant at the Thoracic Surgery Unit at Catholic University Of Sacred Heart – Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS in Rome.

He is an Active Member of ESTS and of national societies of Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Endoscopy, participating as presenter at the main international thoracic surgery meetings (ESTS, EACTS, STS, ITMIG).

He is principal investigator or subinvestigator of several clinical trials in the thoracic oncology and in thoracic surgery innovations and devices development.

While covering the whole spectrum of general thoracic surgery, his main interests include minimally invasive surgery, in particular uniportal VATS procedures and thymic and lung oncologic surgery.
