Yang Yang, MD

Yang Yang is Associate Professor at Tongji University and Master Supervisor both at Tongji University and Fudan University. He has served as the attending surgeon of the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital since 2015. Prof. Yang received his Doctorate of Medicine from Tongji University in 2012. He received overseas training in 2009 at David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA and Affiliated Hospital of Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria.

Prof. Yang is a distinguished expert in diagnosis and surgical treatments for pulmonary tumors. He is also specialized in Thoracoscopic Surgeries, Video-associated Thoracic Surgery (VATS) and lung transplantation, etc. He was the recipient of Annual Meeting Travel Grant 2017 awarded by European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS)

He has been active and held leadership positions in numerous organizations. He is member of both the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) and Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). Besides, he is the member of Youth Committee, Thoracic Surgery branch, International Healthcare Exchange Association of China. Prof. Yang also hosts numerous international meetings and sponsors several times the international training programs for VATS, which targets all the surgeons around the world.

Prof. Yang is the author of more than 30 articles in SCI indexed journals, including J Thorac Cardiovasc Surg, J Clin Oncol and Ann Thorac Surg, etc. He has already published four books. And he hosts many scientific projects which are funded by municipal or national institutes, including Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Heath and Family Planning Foundation, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.
