abstract = {While surgery is an important treatment option for lung diseases, its value can be compromised in patients with impaired lung function. The decreased lung ventilation or diffusion function in these patients increases the risk of perioperative complications and affects long-term survival. Therefore, the extent of resection should be defined according to disease stage; based on the pulmonary function, the risk of perioperative complications and long-term quality of life should be evaluated and predicted before surgery. Thus, the feasibility of surgical treatment and the extent of resection should be decided after weighing the pros and cons.},
